WHAT
BANAH (Hebrew – “Build, Rebuild, Establish, Cause to Continue”) – A place where pastors, missionaries, and fulltime ministry leaders can be built up, reenergized, rejuvenated and refreshed as they take time to get alone with the Lord in an environment where there are minimum distractions.
WHEN
Presently one beautiful cabin is finished and furnished. The plan is to build a chapel and two more cabins on the beautiful acreage of Banah Inn land in eastern Tennessee.
WHY
In 1999, Ted traveled to Kenya and Uganda on a short-term mission’s trip. On both legs of the trip, going and returning, Ted stayed at Mission’s Houses in England. These Mission’s Houses were set up to provide a place of refreshment to God’s servants who were going to the mission’s field or returning from the mission’s field.
Upon returning to the U.S., God laid on Ted’s heart the vision of establishing a place for which ministry leaders could get refreshed by the presence of the Lord. This place would provide an atmosphere of serenity wherein one can be still, appreciate the things God has made, and enjoy the relationship they have with Him as they reconnect to Him. In 2007, after looking at several properties in east Tennessee, the Lord led Ted to such a place, this 23 acres site on the Cumberland Plateau.
Banah Inn is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
